The Five Super Clues
The Characters
iTreasureSanDiego.Com came about in part as the result of Rocky's life-long fascination with treasure hunts, particularly with the Beale Papers (1819 and 1821) and Edgar Allan Poe's Gold Bug (1843), as well as various other famous treasure hunts. The Beale Ciphers or Beale Papers by Thomas J. Beale uses an edition of The Declaration of Independence as the key for a modified book cipher. Poe's Gold-Bug was the first work of fiction to incorporate cryptography into the plot. Another of Rocky's favorite, Treasure Island (1883), is a novel by Robert Louis Stevenson which narrates a tale of pirates and buried gold complete with a treasure map marked with an “X".
iTreasureSanDiego.Com is an old-fashioned and evolving treasure hunt that uses contemporary technology with San Diego County as its landscape. All photographs appearing on iTreasureSanDiego.Com were taken by Rocky within the borders of San Diego County unless otherwise specified.
Happy treasure hunting in beautiful San Diego County, a place that is truly a treasure in itself!
